I like this tree because the base is an amethyst geode, which is my birthstone. It represents happiness, love, and humility, which are values that I prioritize in my life. I also like how the trunk of the tree twists and splits in different directions, rather than just growing straight up.
This was the first tree I ever got. I found it in a jewelry store in Ann Arbor when I was a very little girl (probably somewhere around 5), and I am not sure why I liked it so much, but I told my parents that I just had to have it. Since then, I always look for a tree like this one when I am traveling to take home and add to my collection.
I got this tree on a spring break trip to Kansas City a few years ago. I like it because it appears to be growing out of the side of the base instead of the top. To me, it represents growing in unconventional directions in order to overcome obstacles. It also reminded me of some of the trees that grow out of the side of the cliffs in Pictured Rocks State Park, where I like to go camping with my family.
This was the second tree I ever got, so it was the one that transformed my random tree into a collection of trees. I got it at the same jewelry store as the original, but the store was closing, so it was the last one I got from there. Since the store was having a closing sale, I also got a jade egg to go along next to the tree.
The leaves of this tree are made of lapis lazuli, which is characterized by its vibrant blue color, which I love. This particular tree is interesting to me because the geode base is so large, giving the impression that the tree is at the top of a hill. I like how the base and the geode are different shades of blue because it adds depth to the tree.
